Why Votora?

Built for elections that actually need to be fair.

Votora exists because the same problem shows up at every society AGM: Google Forms are free, but they were never meant to run a proper election. You still worry about duplicate responses, messy spreadsheets, and whether ranked-choice or cumulative votes were counted correctly. Votora is a free, purpose-built voting tool for clubs and student societies — not a generic survey form with an election sticker on it.

We are transparent: Votora is independent software, currently in alpha, and improving with real meetings. What you get is infrastructure societies actually need — QR check-in with Member ID, one person, one ballot, live participation tracking, and automated tallying for yes/no, first-past-the-post, preference (ranked choice / STV), score, and cumulative votes. No manual counting late into the night. No wondering whether someone voted twice from another device.

Why societies choose Votora over a Google Form

  • Stop double-voting — voters check in with Member ID; each person gets one ballot per motion.
  • Fair, automated counts — STV, cumulative, and score ballots tallied in-app, not in Excel.
  • Built for live meetings — QR join, mobile-friendly voting, results when the motion closes.
  • Free to use — no paywall for societies running real elections.

Votora is still in active development. If something breaks, report a bug — we read every report and fix issues quickly.
